On the 18th of May 2010, a commemorative plate in honour of Karl-Friedrich Knorre was inaugurated on the wall of the main Building of the Nikolaev astronomical observatory in the presence of participants to the international Workshop "METHODS AND INSTRUMENTS IN ASTRONOMY: FROM GALILEO TELESCOPES TO SPACE PROJECTS". The inscription in Ukrainian says: "In this building lived and worked from 1827 to 1871 the first director of the Nikolaev astronomical observatory, Karl Christoforovych KNORRE (1801-1883). Above his medallion portrait in basrelief one can read his original German name: Karl Friedrich Knorre.
Am 18. Mai 2010 wurde eine Erinnerungs-Tafel zu Ehren von Karl-Friedrich Knorre an der Mauer des Hauptgebäudes
der Sternwarte Nikolajew enthüllt. Anwesend waren Teilnehmer des internationalen Kongresses
"METHODS AND INSTRUMENTS IN ASTRONOMY: FROM GALILEO TELESCOPES TO SPACE PROJECTS".
Die Inschrift in Ukrainischer Sprache besagt: "In diesem Gebäude lebte und arbeitete von 1827 bis 1871
der erste Direktor der Sternwarte Nikolajew, Karl - Sohn von Christoph - Knorre (1801 - 1883)".
Über dem Portrait-Medallion kann man den ursprünglich deutschen Namen lesen: Karl-Friedrich Knorre.
